John Gould led the meeting:

  Several new people this time.

Recap of Marina Fly-In last month:  32 people, 9 aircraft, 2 aircraft & 3 instructors gave instructional rides.

There are now 4 Challengers at the Hollister Airport, belonging to members.

Q99 hangar lottery requires a $525 deposit, due May 31, to be in the lottery.

 

Club Evolution:

There was discussion about Hollister airport.

 Independence High School project aircraft. The project is 61.395% complete. ;>

 Harold Marchant gave a report on the EAA Sportair Workshop he attended at the Watsonville Airport over a weekend. He participated in the sheetmetal seminar and showed us examples of work he produced in the class. Other tracks presented were in fabric-covered craft and composite construction.  Discussion on the emerging Sport Pilot regulation.

Round-robin questions re: What kind of airplane would you like to have as a club aircraft? Heavy responses went toward 1) Club ownership, 2) Tricycle gear. It got a little fuzzy after that. John suggested that each person who is interested make a list with preferences and a check for $1000 attached. ;> (Well, we’re getting there.  -VM)

 Calendar of Events:

June 15: Paso Robles EAA Ultralight Chapter will sponsor a fly-in.  We may organize a pilgrimage to the event.

Sep. 21: Possible float plane event in the Delta.

Oct. 12: Hollister Air Fair.
